What is the problem with TikTok in India?
Tiktok is a social media application where you can share videos length from 10 - 15 seconds. This platform had many users and was making multi million dollars from India alone .
Causes which lead to banning of tiktok.
1. Tiktok was accused to become a platform of soft porn.
To gain publicity many Tiktokers were uploading soft porn . More than 50% of viewers on tiktok were below age group of 18 and it is prohibited for kids to watch porn. This was one of strong point used against tiktok in supreme Court of India.
2. Many Tiktokers uploaded videos containing violence on animals.
Violence on animals is a big environment issue nowadays. Tiktok was accused to promote violence on animals . many Tiktok videos contained violence on animals.
3. Tiktok was also promoting content related to religious hatred.
In India a small statement hurting feelings of people belong to a specific religion can turn into a mass level of massacre and violence.
4. Many Indian You-tubers accused tiktok for stealing their content and publishing it on tiktok.
Many big Indian You tubers like Ashish Chanchalani accused Tiktokers to steal his content and publish it on tiktok . he said in an interview " one of my comedy video got 65 million views on YouTube and same video was copied and published on tiktok with almost 100 million views. "
5. Many Indian Teenagers where wasting maximum amount of time on tiktok.
In India unemployment of Teenagers is a major problem and social media applications like tiktok caused them to waste maximum amount of time.
6.War against China
During this period of covid-19 pandemic Chinese armies were found illegally occupying land belong India , this led a critical war like situation between India and China. Tiktok was belonged to China and was making money from India and providing it to China. To stop this Indian government banned 50 applications belonging to China (which include tiktok).
7. Carryminati’s record breaking video " YouTube vs tiktok " was removed from YouTube.
Famous You Tuber named carryminati created a video roasting tiktok against stealing content from YouTube and making money. This video was record breaking and resulted in increasing the fan following of carryminati . suddenly after 3, days YouTube deleted the video resulting a new trend in Twitter India "#BanTiktok."
There are multiple reasons behind banning of tiktok but the major reason was it's origin which is China . After Pakistan China is considered as biggest threat to India .
Apps like tiktok were gold digger for China. It was like give our money to enemies and dealing them to kill our self . this are reasons which lead to ban of tiktok.
